Development of Electrical Propulsion Ship for HUIS TEN BOSCH canal cruisers is now at its peak, and members were interviewed on the television on 15th January, 2010

Project team members who have been developing an Electrical Propulsion Ship(*1) for HUIS TEN BOSCH canal cruisers were interviewed on the NIB television at our factory on 15th January, 2010. On the day, the television staff interviewed Mr.Toshiaki Teshima who is the president of CHORYO control System Company and made a film of factory test scene.
The development project of an Electrical Propulsion Ship have been started from FY2007, diesel engines for propulsion was replaced to electrical motors, and solar battery panels, lead acid batteries and inverter panel have been installed on the ship, and then the propulsion test by electric power have been carried out at the HUIS TEN BOSCH canal in Sasebo city of Japan.
In the FY2009 which is the last fiscal year of development program, an automatic control and monitoring panel using a MRC(*2) controller will be installed, and the battery will be replaced from existing batteries to lithium ion batteries. The factory test for concerned units is performing now.
The Electrical Propulsion Ship has a propulsion system which is driven by electric power fed from solar battery panels and/or lithium ion batteries, therefore the ship do not emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere in order not to use a fossil fuel, and clean and quiet sailing is realized.
From now, field erection work, apparatus adjustment, and a trial cruise will be performed by March, and the electric propulsion ship which newly installed lithium ion batteries and a monitor and control system this time is due to cruise the canal in HUIS TEN BOSCH from April.
When you visit HUIS TEN BOSCH at this spring, please enjoy an ecological canal cruise by electric propulsion ship which sails with clean energy.
